Food

We believe that a pub should always be a pub not a restaurant and we therefore offer traditional favourites such as Ham, Egg and Chips (with a twist as we use free range duck eggs) and homemade pies alongside an a la carte menu. For an inland pub we have a strong reputation for fish and our dishes focus on modern British cuisine. Our menu changes every month and we use as much seasonal produce as possible in all of our dishes including fruit, herbs and vegetables grown in our own garden.

We use local suppliers for the majority of our produce and support smaller, family owned businesses wherever possible.

We are open daily for breakfast from 8am until 11.00am for non residents and offer a sumptious menu including a tradtional full English breakfast, Eggs Benedict and American style pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. Please click on the link to see the full menu. 

On Sundays we offer a traditional roast with at least 3 choices; roast beef accompanied by Yorkshire pudding, half a farm assured roast chicken with apricot stuffing, free range pork loin with crackling and apple dumpling as well as our usual Lunchtime Favourites, Pub Favourites and other a la carte dishes. Roast venison, wild boar and lamb are sometimes also available.

    Canapés will be served to your guests on arrival. The buffet will then be served in the main dining room, which will include the following items:
